Edna Redberg very kindly excerpted these interesting portions of the Lars John Redberg Diaries and provided them to NVMS. Note that the complete diaries of Lars John Redberg spanning many years are in the Pioneer Museum in Tillamook, Oregon. They were donated by Erwin and Edna Redberg.

Aug. 3, 1912 - Decided to build new cheese factory.Aug. 7, 1912 - Ole & Mr. Follett went to Cloverdale to look at & examine the Cold Springs Cheese Factory. Ole's large sow dressed out at 387 lbs.
Aug. 11, 1912 - Zada Christensen was here a while.
Aug. 13, 1912 - Laying water pipe - tank & dam for water eystem for Father & Mother and Herbert Porter from Franklin place.
Aug. 15, 1912 - Willie came home. Brought 18 lbs. of net twine. Bert Ray knit for Willie. Willie & Wayne Franklin will fish together.
Aug. 16, 1912 - Mr. Waymire helped knit on Willie's net, and guests helped tack cloth on our new front room.
Aug. 18, 1912 - Rev. Whitely from Newberg & another had services at the hall.
Aug. 19, 1912 - Mr. Porter helped me finish chicken house. Ole got doors & windows & a piece of floor from our old house. I helped.Aug. 21, 1912 - Bert Ray & I are going to start fishing together.
Aug. 22, 1912 - Ole & family, Willie, & Wayne Franklin moved over to fish camp today.
Aug. 25, 1912 - The "Jack Rabbit" made a round trip over the Nestucca bar today.
Aug 28, 1912 - Wife & children, Porters, Mendenhalls, Orilla & daughter, Muriel Richardson, visited with us at Fish Camp today.
Sept. 3, 1912 - Wife & I stretched wire today. Not many fish now.
Sept. 10, 1912 - Bar is very wide & shallow & treacherous. The "Gerald C" came in today.Sept. 12, 1912 - Successfully blasted Steamboat Snag.
Sept 16, 1912 - Bert Ray & I put 20 fathoms more to length of our chinook net making 85 fathoms now.
Sept 18, 1912 - Large group went to Sand Cape to pick huckleberries. Mr. Green of Neskowin started painting our house this AM.
Sept. 20, 1912 - Lester Ray & family moved to their new home. They bought Fox brothers 60 acre farm near Dan Fletcher.
Sept. 24, 1912 - Has been very foggy at sea. I went home for a while today.
Sept. 27, 1912 - "Gerald C" went out, and "Della" came in & went out. Steamboat Snag redwood was 8' diameter. Large pieces pu lled ashore to clear for net fishing.
