Nestucca (Is this news of the Cloverdale area?)

9/10/1890, Headlight (This page was typed by Maggie, a Nestucca Valley Middle School student during the spring of 2003 as part of a technology class and edited by Dean Bones.)

Times are rather dull.

Where are our cattle buyers this season?

The parties that are fishing are doing very well.

We have had fine weather for several weeks and it still continues good.

The Nestucca cannery is not running this fall and there is not so much flashing as usual. The farmers have about got through with their harvesting and threshing crops were quite good.

There are a few wagons running, hauling  ________ to the valley. They sell ______ there for a good price. There have been good many campers this fall but not so many as we usually have at this season of the year. They have plenty of amusement hunting, fishing, boat-riding, clam-digging etc.

A Catholic bishop lectured here last Friday night.
