(This page was typed by NVMS 7th grader, Kyle, during the spring of 2002 and edited by Dean Bones.)

A baby of Charles Sutton and his wife, Shara Bozley Sutton, was buried before the year 1887 on the hill at Bay near the former residence of Chris and Anna Christensen.  When the road was built to the Christensen house and beyond down the hill to where George Evans had a sawmill, the grave was destroyed and covered by the road workers, because it was in the survey line of the road.

Two children of Joe Thomas, who was Supt of the Salmon cannery, were buried on the hill above the cannery near the Thomas residence. Later they were disinterred and taken to Astoria.

in 1897, Frederic Altenburger, infant son of Joseph and Therese Altenburger, was buried on their homestead up Slab Creek. This grave  was destroyed by road workers who dumped tons of gravel upon it.
