Excerpts from the Lars John Redberg Diaries of 1909 - 1912 of Life in South Tillamook County especially of Oretown, Oregon. These excerpts are NOW COMPLETED as of June 6, 2022! 20 years ago I worked with Nestucca Valley Middle School students who began typing these excerpts as part of their technology class. With retirement for me, many other jobs and responsitilities I completely forgot that the typing of these diary entries was not completed. Well, 20 years later I have finished the job! These entries are rich with details of ships that frequented Nestucca Bay, drownings, the building of the Oretown Church and Oretown Cheese Factory, some births and deaths and much day to day life in South Tillamook County! I am so very impressed with all that the local pioneers had to know and do to live life. There are now 21 pages of entries. |
